Start by filling in our short online form. You will be asked which service you need, the location of the property, a brief description of the job, and your contact details. The whole process takes around two minutes.

You do not need to know exact specifications or have technical knowledge. A plain English description of what you want done is all that is needed. The tradespeople will assess the detail when they visit.

Tradespeople Contact You Directly

Your request is passed to qualified local tradespeople registered for your service and area. Up to three of them will get in touch — by phone, text, or email depending on your preference — to introduce themselves and arrange a convenient time to visit.

Most homeowners hear from tradespeople within a few hours of submitting a request during normal business hours. Emergency services such as locksmiths and plumbers typically respond much faster.

Site Visits and Proper Quotes

This is where FirQuote differs from many comparison services. Every tradesperson who comes through FirQuote is expected to visit your property in person before providing a quote. There are no ballpark figures based on a phone call. No guesswork.

A proper site visit allows the tradesperson to understand the full scope of the work, identify any complications, and give you a realistic, accurate price. The quote should be provided in writing and should itemise the work to be carried out.

You Choose — With No Obligation

Once you have your quotes, the decision is entirely yours. Compare the prices, but also consider the tradespeople themselves — how they communicated, how they conducted themselves during the visit, whether they explained things clearly and listened to what you wanted.

You are under no obligation to accept any quote. If none of them feel right, or if you simply decide not to proceed with the work, that is absolutely fine. There are no cancellation fees, no follow-up pressure, and no awkward conversations. You received free quotes. That is all.

Is FirQuote genuinely free?

Yes, completely free for homeowners. We are funded by the tradespeople in our network who pay to receive leads. There is no charge to you at any point — not when you submit a request, not when tradespeople visit, not at any other stage.

How many quotes will I receive?

Up to three. We cap it at three deliberately — more than that becomes difficult to compare meaningfully and can lead to unnecessary confusion. Three quotes give you a genuine sense of the market price and a real choice of tradesperson.

What if I only hear from one or two tradespeople?

This can happen, particularly in more rural areas or for specialist services. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, you are welcome to submit another request.

Do I have to accept a quote?

No. You are under absolutely no obligation to accept any quote or to proceed with any work. You can say no to every tradesperson and there will be no consequences, no fees, and no follow-up from FirQuote.

What happens to my personal details?

Your details are shared only with the tradespeople who respond to your specific request. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for marketing, and we do not pass it to any third parties beyond those directly involved in fulfilling your request.
